Tobogganing Fun Awaits
A winter holiday without tobogganing? Not here.
The 5.5-kilometre toboggan run at Spieljoch takes you through the snow-covered Zillertal mountains, from the mountain station at 1,858 metres down to the mid-station. Thanks to modern snowmaking, the run offers excellent conditions throughout the winter season for a fun-filled adventure with the whole family.
And because one run is rarely enough, the modern 10-person gondola takes you comfortably back up the mountain, ready for another ride down.
Everything you need to get started
Even without your own toboggan, you are all set for some winter fun. Toboggans can be rented directly from Bründl Sports at the mountain station and conveniently returned at the mid-station after your ride.
For those who want to combine skiing and tobogganing, use of the toboggan run is already included with a valid Zillertal Superskipass or eligible day pass. This makes it easy to add a run or two to your day on the slopes.
Winter Hiking
There is more than one way to explore the Zillertal mountains in winter. Groomed winter hiking trails lead through the snow-covered landscape, revealing beautiful views of the surrounding peaks along the way.
The Spieljoch and Hochzillertal mountain lifts take you comfortably up into the mountains, where scenic winter hiking trails offer a peaceful alternative to skiing. Crisp mountain air, snowy paths and impressive panoramic views make every step a memorable winter experience.
Up to the summit
Away from the ski slopes, the snow-covered mountains around Spieljoch are just as rewarding to explore on foot. A well-groomed winter hiking trail leads directly from the mountain station to the summit of Spieljoch.
Once at the top, you are rewarded with spectacular panoramic views across the Tyrolean mountains, from the Karwendel range and Lake Achensee to the Wilder Kaiser and deep into the Zillertal. The summit hike is a wonderful way to experience the beauty of winter in the mountains at your own pace.
Circular Trail to the Hubertus Chapel
Crisp mountain air, snow-covered landscapes and breathtaking views across the Zillertal accompany you along the winter hiking trail in Hochzillertal. The approximately three-kilometre circular route starts at the mountain station and leads past the Firnhütte and along the Zillertaler Höhenstraße to the peaceful Hubertus Chapel.
On the way back, the route follows the groomed winter hiking trail through the Neuhütten settlement back toward the mountain station. With a walking time of about 1.5 hours and an elevation gain of just under 100 meters, this tour is the perfect relaxing alternative to a day on the slopes. Various places to stop for refreshments along and near the route also invite you to enjoy a pleasant break in the mountains.
